Hua Dinh Chanh

Hua Dinh Chinh (8 December 1933-2 June 1963) was a Buddhist monk from South Vietnam.

Biography[]

Hua Dinh Chinh was born on 8 December 1933 in An Khe, French Indochina (present-day Vietnam) to a family of Buddhist Vietnamese. He became a monk at a local monastery, and during the Vietnam War he protested against the abusive government of Ngo Dinh Diem. In 1963 he was murdered by the South Vietnamese Army (ARVN) when they were dispatched to massacre Buddhist monks.
