Howard Davis

Howard Davis (1884 - 20 November 1932) was an American hotelier and pimp who operated the Corleone Hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois. He worked exclusively with the Salieri crime family to protect his business and his girls until 1932, when he betrayed Salieri and began working with the Chicago Morello crime family. This was so that he can hook his girls on heroin, making them dependent on Davis and unable to work elsewhere.

Don Ennio Salieri took this betrayal as a personal insult, having both cut off a valuable source of income for the Salieris and given Don Marcu Morello access to wealthy patrons. Salieri soon sent soldato Tommy Angelo to whack both Davis and Michelle Hayes, a prostitute that gave information to the Morellos, collect any communication between Salieri, Davis, and Morello, then blow up his office.

On 20 November 1932, Angelo walked right up to Davis, gave him Salieri's regards, then shot him in the head with a pistol. Though he was protected by many Morello goons, Angelo managed to accomplish his task and permanently shut down Davis' business.
