The House of Helvius was a dynasty that ruled the Roman Empire briefly in 193 under the rule of Emperor Pertinax. On New Years' Eve of 192 the previous emperor Commodus of the House of Aurelius was strangled to death, letting Pertinax rule briefly before the Praetorian Guard, hostile at his reforms, killed him and elected Didius Julianus as his successor.
