Hossein Kharrazi (1957-27 February 1986) was a general of Iran who was the commander of the Imam Hossein 14th Division during the Iran-Iraq War.
Biography[]
Hossein Kharrai was born in 1957 in Esfahan, Iran. He served in the Iranian Army until 1978, when his interest in religious publications led to him deserting to join Ayatollah Khomeini. He was made a Major-General of the new Islamic Republic of Iran and fought in the Iran-Iraq War as the commander of the Imam Hossein 14th Division, and he aided in Operation Undeniable Victory and the Liberation of Khorramshahr. On 27 February 1986 he was killed by mortar fire during Operation Karbala-5.
