
Hossein Ashtari (1959-) was an Iranian brigadier-general who served as commander-in-chief of the Iranian Police from 9 March 2015, succeeding Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam.
Biography[]
Hossein Ashtari was born in Isfahan, Iran in 1959, and he served as an IRGC commander during the Iran-Iraq War and was wounded in battle. He later joined the Police, and he commanded the security police until 2014, served as second-in-command of the Iranian Police from 2014 to 2015, and as commander-in-chief of the Iranian Police from 2015.
