Horace B. Smith

Horace Boardman Smith (18 August 1826-26 December 1888) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NY 27) from 4 March 1871 to 3 March 1875, succeeding Hamilton Ward and preceding Thomas C. Platt.

Biography[]

Horace Boardman Smith was born in Whitingham, Vermont in 1826, and he became a lawyer in Elmira, New York in 1850. He served as a Chemung County judge from 1859 to 1860, in the US House of Representatives from 1871 to 1875, and as a state supreme court judge from 1883 to 1888. He died in 1888.
