Holm Olaf Bursum (10 February 1867 – 7 August 1953) was a US Senator from New Mexico (R) from 11 March 1921 to 3 March 1925, succeeding Albert B. Fall and preceding Sam G. Bratton.
Biography[]
Holm Olaf Bursum was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1867, and he moved to the New Mexico Territory in 1881. He served in the territorial senate from 1899 to 1901, in the territorial central committee from 1905 to 1911, and as a member of the state constitutional convention in 1810. From 1920 to 1924, Bursum was also a member of the Republican National Committee. Bursum served as a US Senator from 1921 to 1925, filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of Albert B. Fall. He returned to Socorro after leaving the Senate and died in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1953.
