Hollywood Hills is a hillside neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, located among the Santa Monica Mountains. Hollywood Hills is home to the iconic "Hollywood Sign", and the hills are characterized by steep, peaceful lanes which are rural in the north, and increasingly urbanized in the south. The neighborhood consists of sparsely arranged, large, and modern houses that are home to Los Angeles' rich elite and celebrity populations. In 2008, Hollywood Hills had a population of 22,988 people, with 74.1% being white, 9.4% Hispanic, 6.7% Asian, 4.6% African-American, and 5.3% other.
