Hobart H. Crawley (1835-) was a Confederate States Army major during the American Civil War.
Biography[]
Hobart H. Crawley was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1835, and he served as a Confederate States Army major during the American Civil War. He became known as a war hero, and the Hobart H. Crawley Monument in Rhodes was dedicated in his honor. Crawley went on to become a member of New Orleans high society due to his wartime fame, marrying a much younger woman, Brenda. Crawley held authoritarian and conservative views on law and order, and he was a staunch Southern Democrat.
