The Jewish Federation of Labor, also known as Histadrut, is Israel's national trade union center. It was established in December 1920 in Britain's Mandatory Palestine, and it owned the country's largest industrial conglomerates and the country's largest bank, Bank Hapoalim, until Israel began moving away from a socialist economy. In 2017, it had 650,000 union members.
