Hiroya Egashira (born 1965), nicknamed Mr. Shakedown, was a Japanese criminal and extortionist who operated in the Kabukicho neighborhood of Tokyo during the 1980s.
Biography[]
Hiroya Egashira was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1965, and he was born with gigantism. He dreamed of becoming the most powerful man in the universe, but he was forced to shake down passers-by in the Kabukicho nightlife district of Tokyo for the money required to pay for his expensive training sessions, which even included underwater, bare-knuckle fights with a shark. Egashira was nicknamed "Mr. Shakedown" and became a feared presence in Kabukicho, becoming enemies with Kazuma Kiryu on the night of 11 December 1988 after encountering him in the street. While Egashira initially intended to take all of Kiryu's money, he was humiliated that Kazuma had landed several punches on him, and Egashira decided to let Kiryu keep his money for then. However, a day later, Egashira later came across Kiryu on the street, and they engaged in a street brawl which Kiryu nearly won. However, Egashira dealt a knockout blow to the tired Kiryu and took the ¥6.5 million in Kiryu's possession for himself.
