Hiroie Kikkawa (7 December 1561 – 22 October 1625) was a daimyo of the Kikkawa.
Biography[]
Hiroie was the son of Motoharu Kikkawa and fought alongside Katsuhisa Amago in 1570. In 1583 he was sent as a hostage to Hideyoshi Hashiba to prove the Kikkawa clan's allegiance to the Toyotomi, and he fought in the Battle of Ulsan in the Japanese invasions of Korea in 1592. After the battles with the Koreans and Chinese and the death of Hideyoshi in 1598, he supported his former general Mitsunari Ishida's Western Army, but along with Hidemoto Mori defected to the Eastern Army in the 1600 Battle of Sekigahara. He was given control of the Kikkawa clan and in 1614 gave clan leadership to his son Hiromasa Kikkawa.
