The Hidden Ones were a secretive society of assassins which was founded in Egypt in 47 BC by Bayek and his wife Aya with the goal of fighting against the oppressive Order of the Ancients and preserving free will. The Hidden Ones aimed to work from the shadows to ensure that those who would seek to control humanity's free will would die, and the Hidden Ones spread to Rome under Aya in 44 BC. In 38 BC, the Hidden Ones assisted Gamilat's Nabatean rebellion against the Roman occupation of the Sinai. The Hidden Ones went on to expand throughout the Roman Empire, and, in 1050, after over 1,000 years of existence, the Hidden Ones morphed into the Hashshashin, a Nizari Ismaili Muslim secret society based in Syria and Persia.
