Hertfordshire is a county in southern England, bordering Bedfordshire to the north, Cambridgeshire to the northeast, Essex to the east, Buckinghamshire to the west, and Greater London to the south. Hertford is the capital of the county, and other major settlements include Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage, Watford, and St. Albans. In 2013, the county had a population of 1,140,700 people.
