Hermann Robert Dietrich (14 December 1879 – 6 March 1954) was the Finance Minister of the Weimar Republic from 1930 to 1932, succeeding Heinrich Bruening and preceding Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk.

Biography[]

Hermann Robert Dietrich was born in Oberprechtal, Wurttemberg, German Empire in 1879, and he joined the National Liberal Party of Germany before joining the German Democratic Party. In 1919, he was appointed as a deputy to the Weimar Republic's National Assembly, and he served in various cabinet posts, including Finance Minister and Foreign Minister. He left the government in 1932, when Chancellor Franz von Papen appointed Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk as the new Finance Minister, and Dietrich died in Stuttgart, Baden-Wurttemberg, West Germany in 1954.
