Hermann Otto I of Limburg-Styrum

Hermann Otto I of Limburg-Styrum (1592-1644) was the German Count of Limburg and Bronckhorst and lord of Styrum, Gemen, Wisch, and Borculo.

Biography[]

Hermann Otto von Limburg-Styrum was born in 1592, the eldest son of Jobst of Limburg-Styrum. He served in the armies of the Dutch Republic during the Dutch Revolt against Spain, and he commanded Christian the Younger of Brunswick's rearguard at the 1623 Battle of Stadtlohn and the Dutch cavalry at the Siege of Groenlo in 1627.
