Herefordshire is a county in the West Midlands of England, bordering Shropshire to the north, Worcestershire to the east, Gloucestershire to the southeast, and the Welsh county of Monmouthshire to the west. The cathedral city of Hereford is the capital of Herefordshire, and the town is one of the most rural and sparsely populated counties of England. In 2016, Herefordshire had a population of 189,300 people.
