
Heraldo Munoz (born 22 July 1948) was a Chilean politician who served as President of the Party for Democracy from 27 July 2018, succeeding Gonzalo Navarrete Munoz.
Biography[]
Heraldo Munoz Valenzuela Benjamin was born in Santiago, Chile in 1948, and he founded and directed the Latin American Foreign Policy Program before co-founding the Party for Democracy in the late 1980s, leaving the Socialist Party of Chile. He served in various diplomatic positions under President Patricio Aylwin, representing Chile at the Organization of American States from 1990 to 1994, ambassador to Brazil from 1994 to 1998, Minister Secretary General of the Government of Chile from 2014 to 2018, and President of the PPD from 2018.
