Henry Shaw, Jr. (1890-6 December 1926) was a US Senator from New York (D) from 1920 to 1926.
Biography[]
Henry Shaw, Jr. was born in New York City, New York in 1890, the son of newspaper magnate Henry Shaw, Sr.. Shaw was groomed as his father's heir, and his father helped him in securing a senate seat as a member of the US Democratic Party. Shaw supported Prohibition in the United States, and he ran for re-election in 1926, believing that all private parlors and casinos should also be shut down. Shaw's campaign was cut short, however, when he died in a tragic accident in 1926; the cause was unknown, but he was found with heavy wounds to his face and a broken neck.
