Henry Green (1347-24 July 1399) was a courtier and councillor to King Richard II of England.
Biography[]
Henry Green was born in Northamptonshire, England in 1347, the son of a lawyer. He became a Member of Parliament in 1390, and he served in France with John of Gaunt. Green became a close confidant of King Richard II of England, and Green, John Bussy, and William Bagot became one of his unsavory "continual councillors". They advised the king to confiscate the lands of Henry Bolingbroke, and Bussy and Green would be beheaded on 24 July 1399 after Bolingbroke invaded England and captured them at Bristol Castle.
