Henry Gray Turner (20 March 1839-9 June 1904) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-GA 2) from 4 March 1881 to 3 March 1893 (succeeding William Ephraim Smith and preceding Benjamin E. Russell) and from GA-11 from 4 March 1893 to 3 March 1897 (preceding William Gordon Brantley).

Biography[]

Henry Gray Turner was born in Henderson, North Carolina in 1839, and he worked as a schoolteacher in Brooks County, Georgia before serving in the 23rd North Carolina Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War and being wounded and captured at the Battle of Gettysburg. After the war, he practiced law in Quitman, Georgia, and he served in the state house from 1874 to 1876 and from 1878 to 1879 and in the US House of Representatives from 1881 to 1897, and he died in 1904.
