
Henry Fisk Janes (10 October 1792-6 June 1879) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-VT 5) from 2 December 1834 to 3 March 1837, succeeding Benjamin F. Deming and preceding Isaac Fletcher. Born in Brimfield, Massachusetts, he was raised in Calais, Vermont and served in the War of 1812. He went on to practice law in Waterbury and served as postmaster from 1820 to 1830, in Congress, as state treasurer from 1838 to 1841, and in the state house in 1854, 1855, 1861, and 1862.
