Henry Craig was the Police Commissioner of Kansas City, Missouri during the 1880s. In January 1882, with the help of a tip-off from Robert Ford, Craig captured the James-Younger Gang outlaw Dick Liddil (and Ford himself) in Clay County, Missouri, Ford having informed Craig of their whereabouts to prove his membership in the gang and thus be able to collect the $10,000 bounty on Jesse James' head. At a banquet hosted by Governor Thomas Theodore Crittenden, Craig was hailed as a hero.
