Henrietta Godolphin, 2nd Duchess of Marlborough

Henrietta Godolphin, 2nd Duchess of Marlborough (19 July 1681-24 October 1733) was the daughter of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough and Sarah Churchill and the wife of Francis Godolphin, 2nd Earl of Godolphin.

Biography[]

Henrietta Churchill was born in 1681, the daughter of John Churchill and Sarah Jennings. She married Francis Godolphin, the son of her father's friend Sidney Godolphin, in 1698 and was made Viscount Rialton in 1706 and Countess of Godolphin in 1712. She inherited her father's title in 1722, becoming Duchess of Marlborough, and she bore Francis William Godolphin, Marquess of Blandford, Harriet Pelham-Holles, Duchess of Newcastle, and Mary Osborne, Duchess of Leeds. She died in Harrow, Middlesex in 1733.
