Henri Barboux

Henri Barboux (24 September 1834-25 April 1910) was a French politician affiliated with the Liberal Republican Union.

Biography[]

Henri Barboux was born in Chateauroux, France in 1834, and he worked as a financial lawyer before entering politics as a liberal. He became chairman of the Liberal Republican Union upon its foundation in 1889, and he came to lead its pro-government and liberal wing during the Dreyfus affair of the 1890s. He was elected to the Academie francaise in 1907 and died in 1910.
