Heman Allen VT

Heman Allen (14 June 1777-11 December 1844) was a member of the US House of Representatives (W-VT 4) from 4 March 1831 to 3 March 1839, succeeding Benjamin Swift and preceding John Smith. Born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, he was raised in Grand Isle, Vermont and practiced law in Milton and Burlington. After serving in the state house throughout the 1810s and 1820s, he served in Congress and later became a steamboat company director.
