
Heinrich von Zastrow (11 August 1801-12 August 1875) was a General der Infanterie of Prussia during the Austro-Prussian War and Franco-Prussian War.
Biography[]
Heinrich von Zastrow was born on 11 August 1801 in Danzig, East Prussia, Prussia to an ancient noble family. From 1839 to 1842 he served as a military attache to the Ottoman Empire in Turkey, led a Freikorps unit during the First Schleswig War in 1848, and by 1863 had risen to the rank of Lieutenant-General. When the Austro-Prussian War broke out, he commanded his own division at the Battle of Koniggratz, and during the Franco-Prussian War he commanded the Prussian VII Corps. Zastrow retired from the military in 1872 and died three years later.
