Heimiliborg was a Viking city-state in England which existed from 874 to 918, with Heimiliborg (Northampton) serving as its capital. After the Danes conquered Mercia, they fortified Heimiliborg with earth ramparts and turned it into a military and administrative center. By 918, it had an earl and an army, and King Edward the Elder of Wessex reclaimed Heimiliborg that same year.
