Hector Craig (1775-31 January 1842) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 6) from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1825 (succeeding Charles Borland Jr. and preceding John Hallock Jr.) and from 4 March 1829 to 12 July 1830 (succeeding Hallock and preceding Samuel W. Eager). Born in Paisley, Scotland, he immigrated to New York in 1790 and founded the hamlet of Craigville in present-day Blooming Grove, where he built a paper mill, grist mill, and sawmill. He served in Congress from 1823 to 1825 and from 1829 to 1830, when he resigned. He went on to serve as Surveyor of the Port of New York from 1833 to 1839, and he died in 1842.
