Hector (died 1183 BC) was a Trojan prince who commanded the Trojan army during the Trojan War. He was killed by Achilles after killing Achilles' cousin Patroclus.
Biography[]
Hector was the firstborn son of King Priam and Hecuba, and he later married Andromache and had a son, Astyanax. He was the older brother of Paris of Troy and Polites, and he disapproved of his brother's 1250 BC elopement with Helen, which he rightly predicted would lead to Troy's destruction. Hector, the best of Troy's warriors, took command of their army during the Trojan War, and he slew Protesilaus and Ajax before slaying Achilles' cousin Patroclus, having mistaken him for Achilles due to his wearing Achilles' armor. An infuriated Achilles went on to duel and slay Hector, only for Paris to shoot him through the heel with an arrow, killing him.
