The Head Priest was a Japanese secret agent who served as a treasurer of the Daidoji Faction. He was appointed to head the Daidoji Temple and serve as its "head priest"; unbeknownst to the public, the temple was a facade for the faction, and the "Head Priest" was not a real Buddhist monk. He hired Kihei Hanawa as his subordinate and, in 2019, helped Kazuma Kiryu disobey faction orders and rescue the captive Hanawa from the Omi Alliance. In 2020, when Kiryu was allowed to go on vacation, the Head Priest remarked that the Boss had come to trust Kiryu quite a bit, while advising him not to make an enemy of him.
