
Hasan Cengic (30 August 1957-7 November 2021) was a Bosniak Muslim cleric and politician.
Biography[]
Hasan Cengic was born in Foca, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia in 1957, and he became a Muslim cleric and was, alongside Alija Izetbegovic, imprisoned by the communist authorities from 1983 to 1988. Having previously traveled to Tehran in 1983, he helped to source Iranian arms shipments for the ARBiH during the Bosnian War, and he also served on the supervisory board of a phoney humanitarian organization with ties to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda and was a business partner of the Russian arms smuggler Viktor Bout, who was nicknamed the "Merchant of Death". He died in 2021 at the age of 64.
