
Harvey Hughes (1840-1870) was a member of the Blighters gang of London.
Biography[]
Harvey Hughes grew up in a poor family in London, and he dreamt of having a luxurious life. He achieved this through theft, and by 1868 he was a wealthy man who made more money by putting huge interest rates on money that he loaned to others. The Metropolitan Police Service wanted to arrest Hughes for these reasons, and he was kidnapped and given to the police by Evie Frye. Harvey died in prison in 1870 for an illness contracted.
