Haruji Ashikaga (died 1545) was the Deputy-Shogun (Kanto Kubo) in Ibaraki, and was a general in the Uesugi-led coalition that took part in the Siege of Kawagoe Castle, where he was killed.
Biography
Ashikaga was born in Koga, which was an Ashikaga territory. Ashikaga was the Deputy-Shogun to Yoshiharu Ashikaga in Ibaraki, and was also the commander of the Ashikaga forces who took part in the Siege of Kawagoe Castle. Ashikaga was killed in the siege of the castle, breaking his cause's spirits during the battle and leading to the defection of Noriyori Takada and many other Ashikaga officers.
