Haruhiro Itoda (1944-) was a Japanese salaryman who lived in Tokyo during the 1980s. On the night of 9 December 1988, he got into a drunken fight with the trendy youth Naomichi Tagami over their favorite idol, but the yakuza Kazuma Kiryu sobered them up by beating both of them up. When the two men recovered from their drunkenness, Tagami offered to escort Itoda to the railway station to see him home, and Itoda complimented Tagami's politeness.
