Hartwig Loeger

Hartwig Loeger (15 July 1965-) was Chancellor of Austria from 28 May to 3 June 2019, succeeding Sebastian Kurz and preceding Brigitte Bierlein. He was a member of the OVP.

Biography[]

Hartwig Loeger was born in Selzthal, Styria, Austria in 1965, and he worked in the insurance industry and as President of the Sports Union from 2014 to 2018. In 2011, he joined the OVP Business Union in Vienna, and he served as Minister of Finance under Sebastian Kurz from 18 December 2017 to 3 June 2019. From 28 May to 3 June 2019, he served as acting Chancellor following Kurz's resignation, and he preceded Brigitte Bierlein, who assumed office on 3 June 2019.
