Harry Fenton (born 1875) was the landlord and barman at The Garrison Pub in Birmingham, England during the early 20th century.
Biography[]
Harry Fenton was born in Birmingham, England in 1875 to a family of Irish immigrants; his mother was originally from County Galway. He became the landlord and owner of The Garrison Pub in the Small Heath neighborhood of the city, and he catered to the Peaky Blinders gang and other working-class customers. In 1919, he hired the undercover investigator Grace Burgess as a barmaid after she impressed him with her singing of "Carrickfergus", despite Fenton's original belief that she was "too pretty" to work at a bar with crude men. Not long after, Peaky Blinders boss and longtime patron Tommy Shelby bought the pub from Fenton without negotiation, although Fenton continued to work there.
