Harry Callahan

Harold Francis "Dirty Harry" Callahan (born 3 October 1930) was an American inspector for the San Francisco Police Department during the 1970s and 1980s. Known for his unorthodox methods and sharp moral compass, Callahan found initial public attention in 1971 after uncovering the infamous Scorpio Killer.

Biography[]

Harold Francis Callahan was born in San Francisco, California on October 3rd 1930 to an Irish Catholic family. Callahan joined the US Marine Corps and served as an infantryman during the Korean War. He later retired from active service in the military and joined the police force in San Fransisco. Callahan was married to a woman who was later killed in a drunk-driving accident.
