Harris Cowie (1844-1898) was an American wagonmaster who lived in Tumbleweed, Arizona during the Wild West era. He and fellow driver Robbie Donald were seen as good men by Sheriff Sam Freeman, and, in 1898, Freeman hired the Arizona Kid to escort their caravan to Fort Mercer. However, Cowie was killed in one of the first ambushes, and Arizona took the reins of his wagon and led it to Fort Mercer. However, Donald deviated from the path of Arizona's leading wagon and was killed in a separate ambush, and Arizona was forced to return to Donald's wagon in order to ensure that both wagons were delivered successfully.
