Harlem Meer

Harlem Meer is a manmade lake at the northeast corner of Central Park in New York City. Harlem Meer was developed in 1863 at the confluence of Harlem Creek, an unnamed creek following 110th Street, and Montayne's Rivulet. A new boathouse was added in 1947, and a swimming pool and skating rink operated from 1966 to 2021. In 1973, the 1940s-era boathouse was converted into a restaurant. In 1990, the former boathouse was demolished and replaced by a nature discovery center by 1993. From 2018 to 2024, the Lasker Rink was demolished and replaced by the Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, a new recreation center.
