Haraldr Olafsson (1193-1248) was Count of Mann from 1237 to 1248, succeeding Olaf the Black and preceding Rognvaldr Olafsson.
Biography[]
Haraldr Olafsson was born in 1193, the son of Olaf the Black and the brother of Rognvaldr Olafsson and Magnus Olafsson. He succeeded his father as Count of Mann in 1237 and defeated rival claimants, but, after refusing to swear homage to King Haakon IV of Norway, Haraldr was imprisoned in Norway for three years. As he returned to Norway in 1248, he died when his ship was lost at sea south of Shetland.
