Harold "Happy" Loman (1917-) was the younger son of Willy and Linda Loman.

Biography

Harold Loman was born in Brooklyn, New York City to a Jewish family, the son of travelling salesman Willy Loman and his wife Linda, and the younger brother of Biff Loman. He lived in the shadow of his older brother for most of his life and was almost ignored by his parents, and he was a restless womanizer. He worked as an assistant at his sales job, and he sought to advance on to assistant buyer through taking bribes. Loman made things up for attention, such as telling his parents that he was going to get married, and telling two girls at a restaurant a tall tale in order to get them go with him. He would often try to defend all of his family members during arguments in an attempt to have a happy family, and, when his father committed suicide in 1949, Loman decided to follow in his footsteps as a businessman.
