Hantala bin Tha'laba al-Ajli was a leader of the northern Arab tribes during the early 7th century. In 609 AD, he led a rebellion against the Sassanid governor Iyas ibn Qabisah al-Ta'i, and, while he defeated the Sassanids at the Battle of Dhi Qar, the Sassanids were able to keep the province under their rule.
