Hans Feige (10 November 1880 – 17 September 1953) was a General der Infanterie of the German Wehrmacht during World War II.
Biography[]
Hans Feige was born on 10 November 1880 in Koenigsberg, East Prussia, German Empire (present-day Kaliningrad, Russia). He was twice awarded the Iron Cross while serving in the Imperial German Army during World War I, and he served in the Freikorps until he was allowed to enter the Reichswehr. In 1931, he was promoted to Generalmajor, and he retired in 1935 with the rank of General der Kavallerie. However, he was recalled to active service in the Heer during World War II, and he commanded the XXXVI Mountain Corps during the battle of France and Operation Arctic Fox in Finland. In November 1941, he was removed from command due to his failure to take Murmansk, and he retired in 1942. He died in Bad Schussenreid, Baden-Wurttemberg, West Germany in 1953.
