Hanno (died 9 AD) was a Germanic Cherusci warrior during the 1st century AD. He was friends with Folkwin Wolfspeer, and, in 9 AD, he, Folkwin, Eigil, and Thusnelda raided a Roman camp in retribution for their assault on the young Ansgar, burning a tent and stealing the Roman legion's standard. The Cherusci noble Segestes revealed the Cherusci's treachery to the Romans, leading to the crucifixion of Folkwin's family, and Hanno, Eigil, Berulf, and Luco swore to follow Folkwin as he continued to resist the Romans in response to their cruelty. Unsuccessful in their attempt to convince the Bructeri to join their alliance against the Romans (resulting in Berulf's death), the Cheruscians fled into the feared "Dark Land", although Luco was too afraid to join them. Luco was later interrogated and killed by the Romans, who followed Folkwin and his followers into the Dark Land. The Romans ambushed the Cheruscians at their campfire, fatally spearing Hanno in the neck in the process.
