Hank O'Keelan (1908-1975) was an Irish-American laborer from Washington DC. Born in Foggy Bottom, the son of Riley O'Keelan, he worked in the local brewery scene before the neighborhood deindustrialized in the 1950s. O'Keelan came to work as a mechanic, and he raised a family of six children, including Pete O'Keelan. O'Keelan was a Democrat supportive of organized labor and opposed to the Civil Rights movement due to the 1968 Washington DC riots.
