
The Hamza Division was a Free Syrian Army division which operated in Aleppo Governorate, Syria from 23 April 2016. Five FSA groups in the town of Mare united to form the division in April 2016 during the fight against the Islamic State, and the Hamza Division would fight on the front lines against ISIS for months. On 19 September, their leader Ahmad Musa al-Hussein was captured and executed by IS.
