
Hamilton Fish Kean (27 February 1862-27 December 1941) was a US Senator (R-NJ) from 4 March 1929 to 3 January 1935, succeeding Edward I. Edwards and preceding A. Harry Moore.
Biography[]
Hamilton Fish Kean was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1862, the brother of US Senator John Kean. He worked in banking and agriculture before founding the Kean & Van Cortlandt investment firm in 1893, and he was a member of the Republican National Committee from 1919 to 1928. From 1929 to 1935, he served as a US Senator, but he lost re-election to former governor A. Harry Moore in 1934. He died in New York City in 1941.
