
Hamdan of Al Nasiryah (1060-2 September 1102) was a noble of the Abbasid Caliphate.
Biography[]
Hamdan was from the Malikids, a dynasty of Sunni Muslim Levantines. He became the bey of Al Nasiryah (present-day Nasiriyah, Iraq) under Caliph al-Mustazhir, and in 1101 he took part in the jihad against the Kingdom of Jerusalem. On 31 August 1101 he was captured in the battle of Salt alongside Sultan Barkiarok of Seljuk Sultanate. On 2 September 1102 he was executed by King Godfrey de Bouillon for leading Sunnis in a jihad against Christians.
