Hakuho-kai

The Hakuho-kai was a subsidiary family of the Tojo-kai yakuza organization of Japan, based out of the Minato district of Tokyo. It was founded in 2007 by Yoshitaka Mine, and its name meant "white ho", referring to the kanji character ho, which represented Mine's surname. By 2009, it was a considerable force within the Tojo-kai, and the majority of its income came from white-collar crime such as insider trading, fraud, stock market manipulation, and real estate investment schemes. The Hakuho clan backed a CIA-sponsored effort to push an Okinawa resort deal through the Japanese Diet, but Kazuma Kiryu foiled the deal, and Mine sacrificed himself to kill Agent Andre Richardson and save Tojo-kai boss Daigo Dojima, redeeming his role in the resort deal conspiracy. By 2010, the leaderless clan had dissolved.
